We are a family run commercial and registered cattle ranch. Our family consist of Kris and Dawn Nelson and our daughter Laren. We raise registered Gelbvieh, Angus and Balancers as well as a commercial herd that consist of Angus, Hereford cross cows with Gelbvieh bulls.

Dawn is our family Author, when she is not showing, caring for the cattle or teaching riding lessons she is away at book signings or writing her next book.

We choose Registered Gelbvieh cattle for their docility, growth, feed efficiency and maternal traits and muscle. We choose Registered Black Angus for tenderness, growth, maternal traits and color. When we cross the two breeds and register the calves we create a Balancer, and that is when we see some of our favorite calves.

Our goal is to provide high quality pasture to plate genetics at an affordable price to cattlemen and women.

Our cattle are raised in some rough country with no pampering from birth to weaning. They learn to fend for themselves and search for feed and water. Our terrain is scab rock and sagebrush with a few meadows, the temperature is hot and dry. Our commercial cattle head to the mountain during the summer months, where we have a two week round up every fall.

Our bulls are bred to produce easy calving and fast growth with a great eye appeal. We breed for a moderate frame and high tolerance to any environment. We believe in forever trying to improve on the quality of our genetics to satisfy the changing needs of our customers and the industry.

We have embryos available from some of our top females and some of the industries hottest sires.

We have many bulls and females for sale if you do not see what you want call or email us. We also have bulls and females that may be entered into test sales already and we will try to keep you updated on how they are doing on test.
